How many hours do you spend online and on social media throughout the day? Internet activity is a huge part of our lives, our work, and our leisure time. I always describe it as an appendage that is pretty much permanently connected to us. There are both advantages and disadvantages to the all mighty web and aside from completing ruining our eyes (screen gazing and whatnot), we can become quite disconnected with the things around us.
It is my goal to make unplugging a regular practice or even finding a rhythm between online activity and ‘present’ activity. The last thing we want to do is experience burnout right? This mission is part of my momentum project and I hope you’ll get on board with me.
Here’s a list I created of ways to unplug from the Internet. Feel free to list more unique ways in the comments. Let’s do what we can to ensure that our humanity remains intact.
- Take a yoga class to work on your wellness. Embrace meditation and the stillness and calm of the practice.
- Get outside and play. Recreation is your friend. Go to your local park or the riverfront.
