SKINFOOD NEW ZEALAND: MY MOISTURIZER OBSESSION

By ericapdallas 510 2 m read 3.8K views

Once per month, I like to take a stroll through T.J. Maxx for any cool finds. I always peruse the full store because there are quite a few gems if you care to look hard enough or have the time. Besides stationery (a personal favorite), my next best section is the beauty and skincare aisles. There are so many different brands to choose from and I never leave without taking home a couple of beauty essentials to try out.

And that is where I spotted the SkinFood New Zealand skincare line. I picked up the moisturizer because one particular ingredient that caught my eye: Manuka Honey. If you don’t know about the wonderful properties of Manuka Honey, I suggest you watch a few amazing YouTube videos on how effective it is and its many uses for holistic purposes.

Here are a few details about the moisturizer:

Key Ingredients: Sunflower Seed Oil, Apricot Oil, Avocado Oil, Blackcurrant Oil, Goji Berry extract, Aloe Vera, Manuka Honey, Sweet Orange Oil

I eagerly picked up the moisturizer with a “Why not?” shrug and purchased it. What I did NOT expect to find was a beauty and skincare staple that I literally can’t do without.

HYDRATION. HYDRATION. AND OH YEAH, HYDRATION!

I’m very picky about moisturizers and some of them are either too sticky, oily, fragrance heavy, or watered down to make a difference.

Where do I even begin? The creamy consistency of the SkinFood moisturizer is a balm to the touch. For someone like me with normal to dry/sensitive skin, this is a perfect match. I like that this serves as a primer for me as well before applying foundation. You don’t have to worry about the moisturizer ruining the finish of your makeup throughout the day.

The price point? Excellent. If you manage to get your hands on it at T.J. Maxx, you’ll be paying around $6-$8 individually and around $15 for the kit. The online price for most of the line is set around the $15 range, which is superb for the quality.

The SkinFood brand is natural based and sourced from ‘sustainable suppliers.’ I can’t say enough good things and hope to try out more products from the line.
