They say you’re not supposed to look back at the past. But goodness this year has flown by so fast it’s hard not to wonder where the days, weeks, and months have gone. With Quarter 4 approaching, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how you want to close the year. Shift your mindset to understand that there are MANY things you can accomplish in a 90 day period.
September is one of my favorite months. The weather gets some ‘act right’ and instead of giving us the blazing sun of Tennessee temperatures, mother nature shows kindness with island type breezes. It’s lovely. This is what I call transition month. You’re able to breathe and take some time to create a game plan that leads you into the new year. Lots of brands release their latest planner collection, so that’s always fun.
If you have a business or a side hustle, September is an ideal month for you create some projections for next year? What kinds of products or services are you offering? What tactics are you getting rid of? How much do you want to make in sales? All of those questions are good to ask.
Professionally, I know that October is gearing up to be a big month, so I am using September to prepare and work on aligning my physical and mental energy with my creative energy.
Health has been a big factor in this month already, as I am gearing up to do a full parasite cleanse (will post my reviews once I finish). Health literacy is so necessary and in my research, I’m finding that we all carry a lot of ideals from childhood along with us into adulthood. This leads to stubbornness. Ever wondered why someone who knows that a certain vice is clearly hurting them keeps taking it? There are a number of factors (addiction, self-esteem, habit, etc.) but I’ll explore that another time. I’ll just encourage you to take time for yourself in every way. Respect your body and what you put inside it as well as on the surface. If you find yourself not being as productive and focused on your goals, ask yourself why.
I know that we all plan according to our own respective priorities. For instance, one month you may be in a health conscious phase and dedicate extra hours to yoga or a bootcamp. Other months, you may need to build your networking circle and spend time at events. Maybe all you intend on celebrating your birthday with a dozen friends. Either way, your calendar will have a mix of both personal and professional goals and action plans.
Here’s my plan for September (not etched in stone lol):
PERSONAL
- Order 2-Week Parasite Cleanse
- Get Car Repaired (2 New Tires)
- Start Up Zumba Workouts
- Read Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Joe Dispenza
- Organize Bedroom
PROFESSIONAL
- Familiarize Myself with New Position
- Plan out 2018 Project Goals
- Write 10-15 Blog Posts
- Re-Design EricaDallas.com Website Layout
That’s it folks! Planning is one of my favorite things to do. However implementation is 100% more important. So, stay ahead of the curve by setting aside some time to look ahead. Remember, the key to living your best life is to be INTENTIONAL about what you want and PROACTIVE in seeing it through.
What do you think?
